I used to hate the winter months when I lived back East. Particularly back in Western NY where the days are gray and cold for what feels like an eternity. Living in Colorado, where winters are sunny and bright and I get to ski most weekends and keep up on my hiking, I have a new appreciation for this time of the year. I still slow down in the winter, but it's more of a peaceful, relaxed slowing down, rather than feeling caged in by the season.
