The piece was crafted by the visionary Emmanuel Gueit, son of the esteemed Jean Claude Gueit. The younger Gueit worked alongside another fabled watch designer, Jacqueline Dimier—and together their creativity flourished. Behind its dazzling dial, the manually wound calibre 003 performs its silent marvels. Unveiled in 1952, this movement maintained its status as the globe’s thinnest self-winding mechanism for half a century. Crafted by Maurice Audemars at LeCoultre & Cie (later Jaeger-LeCoultre) under reference 803, its legacy stands unrivalled.
