A double life blended with singular accomplishment. ⁣ ⁣ As chief executive of The Macallan from 1979 to 1996 and a Hollywood screenwriter, Allan Shiach moved masterfully between the worlds of single malt whisky and the silver screen. ⁣ ⁣ His breakout screenplay Don’t Look Now – written under nom du plume Alan Scott – was followed by a string of successes. Most recently, Allan was credited as a co-creator of the hit Netflix show The Queen’s Gambit, after spotting the potential of the story decades earlier. ⁣ ⁣ Allan’s patience, creative flair and prolific work ethic served him equally well in leading The Macallan. Building its reputation and preserving exceptional quality, his legacies in both sherry-seasoned oak and the film industry are exemplary – and were recently united in the screen homage to his Great Aunt Nettie in our epic short film - The Spirit of 1926.⁣ ⁣ Find out more in our link in bio.⁣⁣ ⁣ Crafted without compromise. Please savour The Macallan responsibly. ⁣ ⁣ #TheMacalla...
