Four years ago I was fortunate enough to travel to Japan and compete in the Izumo Ekiden relay along with a team of Ivy League running alumni. Seeing the country and meeting its wonderful people continues to inspire me to train hard and return for the Olympics. Although that day we were destroyed by the legendary Japanese university teams, the experience also left me excited for the next chance to race an Ekiden Relay on the roads!
