⚫️🔴🟡⚪️ In various tribes the belief is that only the color red can be seen in the spirit realm, we wear this color and paint to symbolize the voices silenced and to lead the lost souls back home so we may lay them to rest. This Indigenous People’s Day I started a piece that is near and dear to my heart… it’s incredible how your art progresses when you are doing it for YOURSELF, and not as a commission. I love bringing other people’s visions to life but you can really tell a difference when it’s YOUR passion, YOUR pain. I stand with you aunties and sisters, may your voice be heard and no longer silenced.
