Every year there’s a short window in February where the sunset falls perfectly on Horsetail Falls and creates the effect of the waterfall being on fire. The ‘Firefall’ is pretty popular with photographers, who swarm the valley with tripods. Weather is a big factor, if it’s cloudy, you don’t see anything! We lucked out and got an incredible day, lugging all my gear 3 miles as the park closes the roads to protect everyone, I spent a couple hours waiting and wasn’t disappointed!
