This time of year, I love hiking the Rockies.
#ad The mountain peaks are still snowcapped but the trails have just started to dry enough that you can easily acess some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Just because these mountains become easier to access doesn't mean they are easy to hike. Hiking at high altitude is amazing but does carry some risks. It's necessary to have some idea of what you're doing before you hike at over 12,000 ft. That's just one of the reasons I love the Public Lands Field Guides. They have great facts and tips to help you get from the high peaks of the Rocky Mountains, to the shores of Long Island. Be sure to check out other Public Lands Field Guides publiclandsshop
