Araceli Meza Meza, who is participating in the Latinx Graduation, said her time at Harvard was filled with "both struggle and joy.” Early on, she realized that she needed to dedicate extra time to office hours and tutoring—as well as lean on her support network of friends, family, and advisors—to do well in her classes. “Most importantly, college taught me to appreciate everything my parents have done for me,” she said. Araceli encourages Latinx students to find community at Harvard, as well as to “be honest when they don’t know something… and to be gentle with themselves because no assignment or course is worth more than their physical, emotional, and mental health.” --- We’re highlighting graduates participating in #Harvard22’s Affinity graduation ceremonies. These student-led, staff-supported events aim to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of graduates from historically marginalized and underrepresented communities.
