There, she defied the odds and became the first African American and Native American woman pilot, famous for her daring aerial maneuvers. Bessie’s unwavering determination and refusal to perform for segregated audiences made her a trailblazer for equality. Tragically, her life was cut short during a test flight accident in 1926.
