For our Instagram takeover, Harvard College freshman Samuel Fisch (sfischphoto) caught up with Devon Guinn (dguinnstagram). A senior concentrating in Visual and Environmental Studies, Guinn was awarded a Fellowship to create a short animated documentary exploring the rebirth of American beatbox culture.⠀ ⠀ “I've been blown away by how much Harvard has supported my interest in beatboxing, both practically and academically. I've been lucky enough that the Office for the Arts has included me in performance opportunities, and has funded and helped me organize workshops and residencies with the world's leading beatboxers. The linguistics department has even allowed me to pursue an independent study in creating a notation and sound classification system for beatboxing, which is a dream come true since I hope to start a beatbox education company after graduation.
