In a lab at harvardseas, soldier-turned-scholar Brian Fountaine found inspiration in research. Fountaine, a U.S. Army veteran and aspiring graphic designer entering his senior year at Northeastern University, worked as an artist-in-residence in the lab of SEAS faculty member Kit Parker this summer. He spent the 10-week summer program documenting experiments and drawing diagrams and figures for research papers. Fountaine, who lost both his lower legs while serving in the Army in Iraq, learned a great deal about engineering and bioengineering from his experiences in the lab.
