LA REINA DE 5 DE MAYO: When Lila Cisneros-Wise first answered the call to raise money for Ballet Folklorico she was not thinking of personal gain, or crowns, or candy, or piñatas. She just wanted to help out a good cause. “I really like charity work,” she said. “I do a lot for AVID, and Señora A was like, ‘We are raising charity for Ballet Folklorico, and I was like, ‘I love Ballet Folklorico, so I’ll raise money for it,’ so I did.” She wasn’t expecting to be named royalty for her efforts; in fact, she still doesn’t even know how much money she raised. She just raised the money and handed it over.
