Please welcome and say helloooo 👋to Chris Perez chrispperez one of the Centre[3] x Sari-Sari Xchange artists-in-residence! During their residency, Chris has been experimenting with various media including 3D scanning and painting in relation to public spaces, digital technologies and archives. Their work will be presented at the sarisarixchange symposium this fall at reelasian and exhibited this winter at Centre[3]. “My current exploration of digital mediums is captivated with ideas of accessibility and reflections of cultural identity. Deconstructing and reappropriating simple items and devices, I am interested in finding preservation techniques for everyday information, using both worlds of physical and digital.” Chris Perez is based in Hamilton and his artwork revolves around the notion of personal and cultural identity.
