Panchimalco, El Salvador 🇸🇻. This was one of my must-see stops in El Salvador. Panchimalco is one of two towns in the country that still holds on to it's indigenous roots. This is where the indigenous Pipil people fled during the Spanish takeover of San Salvador and where they still call home. Panchimalco is home to one of Central America's most celebrated artists, Miguel Angel Ramirez. Apparently on the day I arrived his studio was closed but when he saw me outside he offered a private tour of gallery and studio. It was an incredible experience being able to ask questions to the artist and learn more about his work. Panchimalco is about 45 minutes south of San Salvador and makes the perfect day trip. #dontskipelsalvador
