Didn’t post this book when I finished reading it because I just didn’t have the worlds to describe why this man is one of my heroes, but while reading “Between the words and me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates there’s a passage in his book which explains simply and beautifully just one of the reason Malcolm X was such a great man and an inspiration of mine .

“The pursuit of knowledge was freedom to him. The right to declare his own curiosities and follow them through all manner of books. He was made for the library not the classroom. The classroom was a jail of other people’s interests. The library was open unending and free. Slowly he was discovering himself. The best parts of Malcolm pointed towards always changing and always evolving towards some truth that was outside the boundaries of his life and body. .
