I was at a bar the other day and the bar tender already knew who I was, “You’re the brewer from Other Half, right? Breeze?” He continues, “I’ve heard so much about you. You have no idea much shit they talk about you and then there are those who love you…” An amazing human once told me that I can let the shit talking affect me or continue to focus on why I’m here, put all my energy into that and move on. I’ve accepted that there will always be a double standard, I’ll be picked apart without end, scrutinized, sexualized, demoralized and the list goes on. Then I think about all of the women in my life who go through the same thing every day. Brewers, brewery owners, sales directors, leaders, bar managers etc,. After everything we’re still standing. The shit talking will always be there. Always. As long as you’re considered competition they’ll always want a piece of you. So as we continue Women’s History Month, I would like to cheers all the women in my life who continue to thrive ...
