There’s much that the #OHWF has taught me since the launch in June. It’s also allowed me to accept that no matter what there will always be criticism from all angles. It will be there waiting for me in the form of an e-mail, text, DM, passive comment, and the list goes on. Some constructive, which is always welcome and others, well…it is what it is. Who am I to tell them to quiet down when I’m the one with the mic in my hand? They have every right as I do. Let them speak. Let them yell. Let them come at me. This was never intended to be easy. “Easy” was never meant to exist in this path I have chosen. I believe my job is to create a space for those who have a voice and need to be amplified. There’s a message there that’s needs to be heard. Inspiring and empowering indeed. Along with this experience, I’d like to also be able to ask the hard questions.
