Take a trip down memory lane & Polk's first five years: 1971-1975 👉🏼 a) 1971, George and Matt work on their first speakers called “The Baby Bottoms” using $200 in savings in a garage; b) 1972, Polk Audio Inc., is founded June 22 with a team of three: George Klopfer, Matt Polk and Sandy Gross; d) 1973, Polk Audio’s first home located on Notre Dame Lane in Baltimore, the offices are in the dining room, the factory in the living room, and the woodshop in a shed behind the kitchen; e) 1975, Polk moves to the Old Mill in Dickeyville with only three other assembly workers and six total employees.
