How does one get started when it comes to marathon training?
First and foremost: find your support system
Marathon training is not for the faint of heart and is incredibly difficult to do alone.
There are countless running groups across the globe. Reach out to one (or all) of those groups and find a system that works for you. Establish what your goals are and I guarantee there will be others with the same objective.
This group will hold you accountable. They will get you out of bed in the morning when it’s below freezing temperatures and all you want to do is curl back into your cozy cocoon of warmth and comfort.
They will cheer for you when you are struggling. Believe in you when you are too tired or too weak to believe in yourself. They are there to celebrate your highs and uplift you during the lows.
The marathon is unforgiving. Having unconditional support in this daunting endeavor is crucial. Find them. Love them. I guarantee it will amount to more than just times and places ...
