Leadership starts with setting the right example. The most successful team in the history of professional team sports is the New Zealand All Blacks. They have a mantra that they live by called "Sweep the Sheds". Their leaders and most tenured players have a practice of literally sweeping their locker rooms (which they called the sheds) after every game and practice. This shows to everyone in the organization that the best players are willing to serve and help the team in any way possible. If you want to be an effective leader you must begin with service to others. People will follow you if they know you care for them and walk the walk, not just talk the talk.
