Pelotonia honors the life and legacy of Michael Nestor: A champion of kindness, Michael was a cancer advocate, 6x Rider, former Pelotonia staff member, and the inaugural 2021 Mary Hyatt Courage Award winner. His unfaltering optimism in the face of adversity touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving an indelible imprint of love, courage, and inspiration.
Throughout Michael’s career, he was committed to philanthropy and giving back.
Michael also played a pivotal role in advancing the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals. He and his husband, Doug, were among the first to marry in California before the state temporarily halted same-sex marriages in 2008. Their deep devotion to each other continued as they navigated life's joys and challenges.
Michael is remembered lovingly for his gentle smile, gregarious laugh, and legendary thoughtful handwritten cards.
