The amount of support and guidance I received and being welcomed in as a new runner has been overwhelmingly positive.” 💙 Before Anthony Quintano became an NYRR Miler member, he was a camera operator for the broadcast feed at the nycmarathon finish line in the early 2000s. He then worked as a videographer for NYRR producing stories about Achilles_International athletes.🎥 “Hearing the stories from Achilles athletes over the years inspired me to want to achieve something more in life.” Sadly, his father passed away from obesity and diabetes at the age of 55. “I’ve always had it in my mind that I wouldn’t live beyond that age because I was heavier and unhealthier than he was when he passed.” After consulting with his doctors, Anthony underwent gastric sleeve surgery and after recovery started walking every day starting at one mile a day to eventually six miles.
