Tyrone Walker, PJI director of reentry services and Georgetown Prison Scholar Program alum, recently visited with the bankindustrial team, which leads the Justice Expose Program—an innovative financial literacy program.
“The Industrial Bank Justice Expose Program has empowered countless currently and formerly incarcerated individuals through financial literacy education. In 2018, while housed in the Correctional Treatment Facility (CTF), I was fortunate to participate in the Industrial Bank Justice Expose Program,” says Walker. “Although I knew some basics about credit and banking, I had never considered building a relationship with a banking institution. The lessons I learned in this program have been invaluable.”
Years after Walker was a program participant, he is now at the forefront of the effort at PJI partnering with Industrial Bank to provide financial resources to returning citizens.
