We all grow a little more nihilistic or numb as we get older. Some push others away in the name of love or self-love. Others lean in, until the supports collapse under the pressure. Whatever happens, I’m getting used to the highs and lows of it all, though that doesn’t make them any less thrilling or tragic. Whichever I become more of first, I’ll always fight to hold on to what & who I am.
