24 hours, the most time I had to myself, in my head, cut off from people by barriers of land & language. No schedule, no reference of culture, and barely any bearings. I drove to this village called Huisduinen, and roamed aimlessly through the empty streets and city square. My sight was set on this lighthouse in the distance. Hiking up the sea wall, I arrived on a stretch of green between the fields and ocean, and with the wind biting through my layers and pushing me forward, each step closer brough fresh awareness of where I was, who I am, and what I needed. The spring of ‘19 was a really tough time for me, and there was a lot going on that I was trying to process. Through this experience, I was able to recall my solo stregth, and bring my pain into perspective.
