On the morning of January 11th before the city had risen, we rode. It was a memory that I’ll always hold on to, riding across the 99 Viaduct for the last time- a stretch of road that seems insignificant in theory. After all, I’m not a native to Seattle and can hardly grasp the history of that bridge, but my appreciation for it and the sense of welcoming it radiates to all those who cross it was enough. I remember crossing it my first time visiting Seattle, and each time it has provided a view that reminds me why I moved here in the first place. Though it’s gone and the view with it, I’ll remember to appreciate similar places more now and enjoy them while they’re here.
