What a day this was. Starting out in the busy city, twisting through Tillamook pass and coming to a slow sprawl along the Oregon coast. With two wheels below me and nothing between my senses and the warm Oregon air, it was the perfect way to pass through this familiar place. After arriving at Cannon Beach, I ran into and briefly caught up with neekmason who suggested riding up to Indian Beach (shown above) which I stopped at on my way to Astoria.  Crossing the Astoria Bridge at sunset was quite the experience. I’ve lost track of how many crossings I’ve had at this bridge but none have felt more visceral as this; with gulls riding the waves of wind above me and tankers tucked in for the night on my right. My ride home was only halfway through, and the remaining stretch would grow exponentially colder, reaching 35 degrees during the final hour.
