This morning, St. Ambrose President Amy Novak and Mount Mercy President Todd Olson signed a strategic agreement marking our intent to combine our institutions into one. Staff, faculty, and board members from both universities were there to witness this historic event. Having completed months of due diligence and negotiations, both institutions received support from their Boards of Trustees and community leaders for this next step in their collaborative work to redefine Catholic higher education in Eastern Iowa. This milestone is a significant step forward in efforts to expand academic offerings, co-curricular programs, and innovative opportunities for students of both campuses. St. Ambrose and Mount Mercy now enter a two-year period of regulatory approvals from both the Higher Learning Commission and the U.S. Department of Education.
