On the rise 🚀
This summer, middle and high school students’ experiments flew aboard AstroboticTechnology’s rocket-powered lander over a simulated lunar surface as part of our TechRise Student Challenge. During two flights on June 21 and July 26, the lander flew for approximately one minute at about 80 feet (24 meters), allowing for 30 student payloads to collect information on surface features and discover hidden objects on the “moonscape” built in Mojave, California.
TechRise is a nationwide competition administered by Future Engineers for NASA’s Flight Opportunities program. The new challenge opens on August 1 and students can win a chance to fly an experiment on a high-altitude balloon!
