#throwbackthursday 🎞️ Stereoview of Lighthouse Before Keepers House If one of your thoughts when looking at this image were “something is missing,” you would be correct. Although a bit faded, this stereoview shows us a view of the lighthouse that is a little different than many other photographs. This stereoview is from a very short period of time from after the current Lighthouse was finished being built to the construction of the Keeper’s House. Before the present-day Keepers House was constructed, the Light Keepers lived in the house attached to the first lighthouse. This old house was not quite a quarter mile away from the new tower. Funding to build the current Keeper’s House was approved only four months before the lighting of the new tower, and by August 1875, the Keeper’s House was almost complete.
