A club fitter can help you assemble your bag, and tell you what wedge will create optimal scoring gaps. When you go see a fitter, bring a notebook, and write down how far the each wedge goes. After you've tried some wedges and charted your distance, hit your 9 iron. Starting from your 9 iron distance, you want to have wedges to fill each 10-15 yard gap.
