Feather Friendly & NHM of LA - A Partnership for Bird Safety The Nature Gardens at the Natural History Museum (NHM) of LA County is a vibrant space where visitors can experience urban nature and local wildlife. The stunning two-story glass pavilion that was erected at the entrance, however, posed a risk of accidental bird collisions. In 2023, NHM partnered with Feather Friendly® to address this challenge. NHM installed visual markers on the pavilion, choosing the “Serenity” pattern in white to treat reflective glass. Post-installation monitoring has shown that bird collisions at the pavilion have reduced significantly! We thank NHM for their commitment to protecting wildlife and fostering a love for nature. They are reviewing other areas of the building to determine the scope of future collision mitigation measures, and we are excited to be part of their ongoing journey!
