An ode to craftsmanship. Six Japanese traditional artisans and contemporary artists were chosen by Creative Director Sabato De Sarno to reimagine 60 vintage Bamboo 1947 bags in ‘Bamboo 1947: Then and Now,’ a special exhibition celebrating 60 years since the House’s official introduction in Japan. Adorning the Bamboo 1947 bags with his iconic imagery, photographer Daido Moriyama’s dynamic, high-contrast photographs bring a striking visual impact, while Yui Yaegashi has applied her abstract painting style to the silhouettes using freehand brushwork and layered colors. Discover the exhibition at the Gucci Ginza Gallery, open until September 23. #GucciBamboo1947 #Gucci60YearsInJapan
