There is something special about the Air Jordan 11. They stand out in comparison to all other models that he wore in his playing days and there is an aura about them.
As a kid, the first pair of 11s I saw in person were the 2000 Concords. I loved watching basketball with my dad growing up, and we would frequently make road trips together to watch the state high school basketball tournament.
We watched most of the different divisions, from smaller schools to larger schools. I remember one year we watched the 2A Championship, and a player on one of the teams had a crazy vertical. He did some sweet dunks in warm-ups and a few in the game. I remember this because the guy was wearing Concord 11s.
Not sure why that memory sticks with me, but since seeing the AJ11 as a kid, the model has always held significant meaning to me.
This pair isn’t the 2000 pair; it’s the 2011 release, but I love the way the icy sole has oxidized, giving them a beautiful aged look.
