Ever since I set my academic path out as a Christian Studies major, I have grown to appreciate my faith's traditions, cultures, and people exponentially. At the same time, being a college student develops your skills in terms of living independently and appreciating a plethora of cultures outside the one you are used to. Knowing that Germany's culture--let alone language and cuisine--is different than in America, I educated myself by continuing to learn how to have conversations in German, being receptive to different types of food and customs, and being aware of important pieces of history.
