Running update: A couple weeks before our conference meet, there was pain in my arch and Achilles that flipped to the top of my foot. This caused me to be unable to run and we just attributed it to tendonitis. Still not being able to run much in the two weeks until conference, I decided to only run the steeplechase at conference as it was not a prelim/final race. While the race went way better than expected, I was hardly able to walk afterwards, and knew the underlying issue was much more severe. A couple weeks after conference, an MRI showed a deep navicular stress fracture. At the end of May, I had surgery where they took a bone graft from my heel and fixed the fracture with some screws. I’m proud of the runner and athlete I’ve become over the last year, but disappointed to not be able build on this past track season.
