Let me tell you a bit about the steeplechase… I take it for granted that everyone who knows me knows about the steeple, but that may not be the case and if you’ve heard of it but maybe don’t know the details… listen up! The steeple is so exciting and always filled with drama. The basics: 3,000m 4 hurdles every lap (28 total) A water pit every lap (7 total) The barriers don’t fall over if you hit them No one has their own lane so you’re all jumping over the same obstacles Women have been running this event at the Olympics only since 2008, so this will be the 5th women’s steeplechase final in history.
