Despite a legislative session that saw lawmakers double down on the harmful and punitive policies of February's special session, we were able to secure some small wins on behalf of the youth that we serve! Access and equity go hand-in-hand, and vital documents are an important part of creating ease and access for all children, especially those that are system impacted.⁠ ⁠ We all know the importance of having state IDs and birth certificates during a hurricane and the unfortunate barriers to much needed resources that occur when someone doesn't have them.
