DEVILS WIN!!! The #NJDevils made a massive statement in the absence of Jack Hughes, taking down the Seattle Kraken!! Mackenzie Blackwood stole the show, stopping 33 of 34 (.971 SV%). Dougie Hamilton did the rest on his own, as he had two absolute rockets on the PP. John Marino sealed the deal with an empty netter – his fourth of the season. The game did not start the way the Devils wanted it to, and frankly, it was what everybody feared with Jack out. They played extremely sloppy and weren’t contributing anything offensively…Turnovers, poor handling of the puck, etc. However, after getting a powerplay and scoring the tide completely turned. They minimized their mistakes and played smarter, more efficient hockey. The result was a well-deserved two points, but those points would not have come if Blackwood didn’t bail them out early. It was certainly the game of the season thus far for Mac. The Devils will be on the road next, as they take on Minnesota on Saturday night. WOO!! LGD!! 😈
