DEVILS WIN!!!!!! Jack Hughes’ two goals helped the #NJDevils grind out a massive two points in Pittsburgh!! This game was all over the place with sloppy officiating for both sides. But when things got tough, Nico Hischier did what a captain does and came up with a hugeee shorthanded tally late in the second. That turned out to be the game winning goal. Timely scoring like that has eluded the Devils for the entire month of December, and it’s sooo nice to finally have one go. Vitek Vanecek was phenomenal as he stopped 25 of 27 (.926 SV%). But most importantly, the entire penalty kill deserves first star honors. They killed off all NINE (!!) Penguins power plays…a whopping 18 minutes of PP time. And the goal differential in that time was +1 in favor of NJ. Yes, things have been tough. But tonight was a huge game, and they answered the bell. Now, let’s turn it into something. Another big game is coming up on New Year’s Day vs. Carolina…a win there would be an insane momentum shift. Thankfu...
