The #NJDevils suffered their first loss of the preseason, as Jack Hughes’ tally was not enough. However, there is very good news: Mackenzie Blackwood played out of his mind. He stopped 35 of 37 (.946 SV%) and the two goals he gave up were not his fault. One was an absolute snipe by Artemi Panarin and the other was a deflection off a skate from a puck going way wide of goal. Having goaltending like that is essential to the Devils’ regular season success, so seeing Blackwood in this form is awesome. Hopefully it keeps up. With that alone, tonight is a win. They’ll be back at the Rock on Monday to take on the Boston Bruins. LGD!! 😈
