DEVILS WIN!!! The Devils salvage their Canadian road trip with a huge victory against Vancouver!! Mackenzie Blackwood was stellar once again in net, stopping 30 of his 31 shots faced. The Devils played a game similar to every single one they’ve played as of late. A dominating first period, even second period, and a very laid back third period. However, the uptick of defensive awareness combined with the stellar netminding allowed for the Devils to hold on for dear life and get the big two points. Wayne Simmonds scored a powerplay goal, and Jesper Bratt scored by deflecting a Damon Severson short - both in the first period. Those were the only goals the Devils would need. Additionally, Nikita Gusev played another splendid game. After his poor defensive play early on, Nikita Gusev has bumped up his expected goals differential from ~20% to ~60% per game the last two games.
