DEVILS WIN!!! The Devils stave off the red hot Carolina Hurricanes to finally break the ice and get a victory. They did not back down, played to their identity, and the results showed. PK Subban scored his first *real* goal as a Devil (he scored an ENG vs NYR)...giving the Devils a 4-3 lead with about 10 to go. This time, the Devils did not back down as they had previously. They played a strong foundational game defensively, and boy did it pay off. They were able to hold Carolina and then Damon Severson tacked on an empty netter to seal the deal. This was a HUGE win for New Jersey. So many positives. Jack Hughes scored another PPG. Wayne Simmonds seemed to rejuvenate the fourth line, kicking Miles Wood into an extra gear. His hard work finally paid off – in the form of a goal and the primary assist on PK’s goal. Mackenzie Blackwood was once again very solid in goal, saving 24 of his 27 shots faced.
