DEVILS WIN!!!! Jack Hughes picks up his first career point as the Devils get their first W of the season!! It all came down to the penalty kill - which up until tonight had been beyond atrocious. The Devils were finally moving their feet and didn’t allow the Rangers to get set up. The result?? They killed off all six man advantages. Although the Devils PP is still a work in progress, they were moving the puck better and finally broke the ice with a Palmieri PPG. Don’t get me wrong - there’s still a ton of work to do defensively. But tonight was not *as* bad as some of the previous games were. With a two goal lead after two periods, the defense gave up one but didn’t give in, as they had in the past. Offensively, Matt Tennyson had a two point game and PK Subban played his best game by far. The Subbanator registered NINE shots on goal (23.6% of all Devils shots for the night) - and added his first goal on an empty netter. The Devils were much more physical tonight, outhitting NYR 18-11. ...
