Devils fall 7-2 in Buffalo. They got outworked, outskated, and outplayed in every sense of the word. John Hynes decided to be unconventional when constructing the lines, and the price was paid. This was a disgusting, sloppy performance. The PK was atrocious as they gave up 3 powerplay goals in 4 opportunities. Mackenzie Blackwood looked very shaky in goal, as he failed diving for the puck which led to an easy goal in the first, making it 2-0. That changed the momentum completely. The Devils struck quickly in the second, making it a one goal game, before Buffalo scored four in a row. Once again, we are 0-1-1 and there are eighty games remaining. It would be comical to push the panic button. With that being said, an effort like tonight is immensely concerning. BRIGHT SIDE: Jesper Boqvist looked really good in his NHL debut.
