We kicked-off #DbacksGiveBack to Education Week tonight with a special ceremonial first pitch from Efrain Casillas, azedfoundation’s 2024 Teacher of the Year! Mr. Casillas is a music teacher at Porfirio H. Gonzales Elementary and Desert Oasis Elementary, as well as the Coordinator of Music Programs for the Tolleson Elementary School District. He created the district’s first Mariachi, Jazz, Marching, Concert and Latin Jazz bands which have gone on to perform at various distinguished competitions and events, and continues to push for excellence as he impacts the lives of his students. Thank you, Mr. Casillas, for inspiring students through music for over 22 years!
