Michelle McAteer has announced her resignation from the Augsburg University women’s ice hockey program on Thursday, August 8th. She has accepted the position of commissioner with the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, a #NCAA Division I women’s ice hockey conference. McAteer a 2003 graduate at Minnesota-Duluth, was a member of the Bulldogs’ three-peat #NCAA Division I National Championship teams in 2001, 2002 & 2003. In four seasons, McAteer played in 136 games tallying 35 goals and 32 assists for 67 total points. She served as assistant captain her junior and senior seasons while being a part of the UMD women‘s ice hockey inaugural class. After her collegiate playing career, McAteer stayed with UMD as a graduate assistant coach for two seasons. She then became an assistant coach at Harvard from 2005-2007 before becoming an assistant coach with the Vaughan Flames in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL).
