Snowgoers are on thin ice as Police detect over 500 offences throughout July during a major road policing operation targeting motorists heading to Victoria’s alpine areas.

🏂 Check road conditions regularly as they can change quickly via the Vic Roads website
🏂 Drive cautiously – keep two hands on the wheel, use gradual pressure on the accelerator to avoid wheel spin, brake gently and avoid unnecessary gear changes.
🏂 Avoid braking when cornering and use a low gear when driving down the mountain.
🏂 Use low beam lights at night. High beams do not work in high mist areas.
🏂 If you can’t see, pull over, put on your hazard lights and keep your engine running.
🏂 If you hit ice, remain calm and apply the brakes gently to slowly regain traction.
