Ben Joyce’s Adjustment… ben_joyce08 appears to be in the process of evolving his arm path to be LESS ball-dominant. In 2022, he showcases his unique “tempo delivery” where he aggressively pulls the ball out of the glove and has a noticeable pause at the peak of his arm path pendulum prior to securing front foot strike. This pause naturally promoted a more low three-quarter arm slot. It would also cause an occasional disconnect in his throwing wrist as the shoulder began to externally rotate. In 2024 it appears that he possesses a calmer “arm swing” which enables him to stay more connected in the wrist and maintain a flow from start to finish. This also appears to be helping him with his arm path sequencing (shoulder➡️elbow➡️ball) as well. * I have not confirmed this hypothesis, but it also appears that this adjustment is promoting more over the top release which may contribute to higher vertical break numbers and improvements in command of the strikezone in the future. #baseballbo...
