This week, Bow Seat’s Contest Program Manager, Susan, and Intern, Montana, had an incredible time at the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA) conference! Over the course of two action-packed days, we engaged with hundreds of attendees at our table, where we distributed Bow Seat print materials, showcased a beautiful zine designed by Montana, and hosted a wildly popular button-making activity. Attendees loved transforming student art from our Yearbooks into wearable pieces, and we were thrilled to see the excitement as people flocked to our table to create their own custom buttons—nearly 150 in total! The energy continued into Monday evening at the New England Aquarium, where Bow Seat had the honor of exhibiting 10 stunning works of student art. With 200+ people admiring the pieces amidst the captivating backdrop of the aquarium, it was a night to remember.
